Deeside and Wirral U3A Network

The Deeside and Wirral Network comprises the following local U3A groups:
Bromborough, Cestrian, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Heswall, Hoylake, Neston, Oxton and Prenton, Wallasey, Wirral

The aim of the 'Network' is to widen the opportunities of all the members in the local U3As that are registered within the network. Suggestions as to how this can be achieved include the following:

  • Share and promote minority interest groups.
  • Organise outings and joint events such as study days, exhibitions and competitions.
  • Group Leaders could offer or share their knowledge and expertise to other U3A groups with the same interests.
  • Share information about special events, excursions etc

Members can join more than one U3A within the Network. One would be their 'Primary' U3A to which they pay capitation included in their membership fee, the second would be their 'Secondary' U3A to which they need not pay capitation (at the discretion of that U3A). Only fully paid up members of their 'primary' or 'secondary' U3A can attend the monthly meetings. Members of U3As within the 'Network' may join interest groups hosted by other U3As, provided the 'group leader' (co-ordinator) is willing to accept them into the group, and provided that the interest group has vacancies and is actively seeking members to sustain the group. Members are accepted into the interest group on the proviso that their membership of the interest group is until the end of that membership year, at which time, if members of the hosting U3A wish to join the interest group, then the visiting members (those from another U3A) will relinquish membership of the group.

More information and event details can be found on the Network's website.
