Thirteen members of the group enjoyed a good walk in perfect weather in the Flintshire Clwydian range. After leaving the cars at the foot of Moel Arthur, we made a long, steep climb to the top of a ridge from where there were great views across North Wales. We continued walking in the direction of Moel Famau and after the wet weather we have had over the last few months it was good to have dry ground for most of the walk and we covered about five miles in good time. Lunch was taken at the White Horse at Cilcain after which we walked a further two miles back to the cars, taking in the beautiful views across the Dee estuary to the Wirral (report by Alex Davis).
